The first presentation in ICT department



          First of all, I would like to thank our lovely lecturer that gave us a good opportunity. Presentation is an excited method which can improve our skills. Actually, I impressed so much, because I was one of presenters. In that time, the topic was the problem associated with Information management. Indeed, the topic was very interesting and meaningful, because it could make us able to solve a particular problem in Information Management system after we have looked at and studied carefully on the whole points of the topic. Of course, being as a presenter is something very fantastic and awesome for me, because I had to be ready in any sector, such as accurate information, explanation, answering the questions would be asked and spoken language. However, I enjoyed my time in front of audience and I expected I could score high and I would be able to understand my subject.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (IT & ICT)


     In this opportunity, I love to start new topic. It is Information Technology or IT and Information and Communication Technology or ICT. Actually, most of us know this topic, but some of us are thinking that both points are the same. In fact, both are slightly different. Nevertheless, let me talk about it. I will share with in conceptual form. Later on, we might be able to distinguish between IT and ICT. Let's begin.
 
  • Information Technology is any computer-based tool that people used to work with information and to support the information and organization's needs.  
  • IT comprises IT architecture and IT infrastructure. 
  • IT architecture is a high level map or plan of the information assets in organization. It integrates and fulfill entire organization' needs.  
  • IT infrastructure is the physical facilities and the basic of building information. It composes three elements. They are IT component,which are hardware and software, IT service that is system, IT personnel that is people.

  • Information and Communication Technology is similar to IT, but focuses on communication technologies. This includes the internet, wireless networks, cell phones and communication mediums.  
  • We can use ICT in daily life, such as Healthcare, Education, Banking, Business, Government, science and so on.  
  • Role of ICT in Education is educators are turning to IT and ICT to assist in education. 
  • Role of ICT in Banking effects how managers decide, how they plan and what products and services are offered in the banking industry.
  • ICT in business can be used to communicate between individuals, organization, a business and external organization.
 
    Lastly, here are my points which I understood. IT and ICT are slightly different, because in ICT we focus on communication or media broadcasting. However, we should learn in different form in order to extend our mind and understanding. In information technology, it includes two components. They are IT architecture, which integrates and fulfill needs of organization, IT infrastructure which is to build information. Nowadays, people use ICT as a part of their lives, because it can apply to any field, and it is very useful. However, we should take care of our steps or actions to be saved. We have to avoid from wrong usage.
